Just finished the CELTA at CELT Athens and it was honestly brilliant. It’s as full-on as everyone says, but you’re never in it alone. The tutors are just amazing—they have this way of giving you feedback that actually helps, without making you feel nervous.

The best part was getting to teach real students almost every day. It’s scary at first, but you learn so fast that way. The other people on my course were great too, and we all helped each other through.

I went in not really knowing what to expect and came out feeling like I could actually handle a classroom. If you’re thinking about doing a CELTA, I’d definitely say go for it with CELT Athens

I completed the intensive face-to-face CELTA course and everything was exceptional! The tutors were among the best in their field and I loved how they provided detailed and constructive feedback. The amount of support you get is immense! I have already started using the techniques that I’ve learned during my CELTA and I can already see a positive difference in my students’ engagement level and overall learning progress. A huge thank you to my tutors, Natalie and Tatiana, and – of course – Marisa and Sophie! If I ever decide to continue with DELTA, I’ll definitely choose Celt Athens again!

Both Marissa and Paul helped me during my Module 1 and 3 DELTAs, the latter of which I really struggled with. Without their support and positive guidance, I would have never passed but they gave me the confidence and skills to do so!

They were able to help me locate the necessary resources and had a wide range of books and materials to help with my essay. They were also very respectful with their feedback which always pointed me in the right direction. Doing ELTM was definitely difficult but it was absolutely worth it in the end thanks to them both!

I attended the full-time CELTA course in July at CELT Athens and it was a memorable experience. The course was very intensive but extremely rewarding, providing me with the skills and confidence needed to start my journey as an English language teacher. A major highlight was the support and expertise of my tutors. They were not only highly knowledgeable but also genuinely invested in our success. Their constructive feedback and encouragement during teaching practice were invaluable, helping me refine my techniques and grow as an educator.

The course structure was overall well-organized, with a balanced mix of practical teaching sessions, input lessons, and peer collaboration. Despite the challenging pace, the tutors created a positive and motivating learning environment that made the experience enjoyable (beware though: know that if you choose the full-time course you will not sleep enough: make sure you can sustain this pace for 4 weeks! ;-). I also appreciated the opportunity to work with real students from diverse backgrounds, which added authenticity to the training. Overall, this CELTA course was a transformative experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone pursuing a career in teaching Englis

The CELTA at CELT Athens gave us the skills and experience to confidently get in front of a class of and give our students the materials and attention they needed to learn a language. We worked closely together with peer-evaluators and supportive tutors in a four-week intensive program that focused on countless strategies and teaching methods.

My toolbox couldn’t fit all the tools they provided, but thankfully I have a binder full of files, and access to many resources to return to–not to mention many memories and learning experiences! Being able to get live feedback and nuanced critiques from both colleagues and tutors was an invaluable, irreplaceable experience.

Our group had a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, which was helpful for gaining insight into the language-learning experiences from across learning styles and linguistic backgrounds. Much love and thanks to Marisa, Mohamed, Svitlana and the graduating class of July ’24.  

I attended the full-time, full intensive CELTA course at CELTAthens in July 2024 among a group of eleven wonderful colleagues that constantly inspired me till the very end. Our three tutors, Mohammed, Svitlana, and Marisa, tirelessly pushed us to the maximum of our potential. Everyone in the centre, trainers and administrative staff alike, were fully supportive, while adhering to the high standards of the qualification provided. They have all played an invaluable role in making this training journey fully beneficial and a milestone of a lifetime.

I had the privilege of taking the CELTA in-person @CELT Athens and I can say it exceeded all my expectations. The course was very organised by both tutors and staff of the school, and we were thus, the trainees, focused on our aim; this includes the everyday inputs from our tutors, teaching practices, observations of other teachers and the written assignments. The course covered a wide range of teaching techniques, language skills and classroom management strategies thanks to the skilled tutors/experts on the topic and of course to the learning environment of the CELT Athens centre; the modern facilities and resources there have been very helpful for us the trainees.

My tutors, Sarah, Ceri, Marisa, and Paul were all incredibly supportive and friendly throughout the course and made an indelible contribution to my experience as a teacher-in-training and to this journey! My colleagues and I are more confident now in the ELT industry, and we are equipped with knowledge and practice that will help us become fully-fledged English teachers thanks to our tutors’ expertise in teaching other teachers & trainees.

I am grateful I had the opportunity to have wonderful tutors that helped me achieve my goals.  Marisa, Paul, and Niamh were very  understanding and worked towards helping each trainee in the best way possible. For me CELT Athens is a remarkable and unique addition to my academic life. In the beginning of the course, I found it a little bit hard but after a while it became easier to ‘digest’ and assimilate new ideas. The CELTA course was an amazing experience! It gave me the opportunity to explore the best teaching aspects of myself. I enjoyed the whole process, and I learned how to create really wonderful lessons. The tutors were really helpful by providing precise feedback that helped us to become professionals. Marisa, you helped us all by providing the very best tutors. There is nothing that you could have done more or better! 

The CELTA course was an eye-opening experience but, undeniably, the DELTA was much more than that! I have learnt to reflect and develop and now my online and offline classes are way better than they used to be; my evaluation forms have confirmed it. Marisa is the most eloquent teacher that I have met, and like Sylvie from “Emily in Paris”, she is strict but always right! Angelos is so patient that you can do nothing but admire him! I wish I had plugged up the courage to do the course years ago!

I had the most amazing learning journey completing this course . It was definitely worth the time and effort I put into it, as I feel I have been equipped with the necessary skills to move onto my teaching career . My tutors were tough but amazing! Without their support I could not have completed the course.  I made new teaching colleagues and I look forward to continuing my learning journey with my CELTA. 

CELTA was a great experience! I never thought that it is possible to learn so much in 5 weeks, but it is. The course gave me the knowledge and the confidence to start my teaching career. I implement lots of things from the course, sometimes without even noticing it! The CELTA course was intense, intensive, overwhelming, exhausting, but extremely rewarding. I am glad that I got a chance to get that experience, and to start my professional development with the lovely tutors of CELT Athens.
