Medical

Please state if you suffer from any medical condition which we should know of prior to your course start.

The same applies to any other disabilities which may cause the candidate to need special consideration, such as dyslexia, kinetic disabilities or other issue. In every case, to accommodate candidates with special needs, Cambridge ESOL will have to be notified at least three months prior to the course start and any medical certification required for such a process will have to be made immediately, upon application, made available to the centre. 

* This space must be filled with a NO or a YES plus details; it is especially important for granting extra time to candidates during the Module 1 written exam which is handwritten.

Conditions & Terms of Enrolment 

PAYMENT OF FEES

  1. Tuition fees must be paid either in full before the course begins or in 5 instalments
  2. A non-refundable deposit of 250 euros is required to secure your place on the course and is paid BEFORE the course starts.
  3. Instalments, when available, must be deposited during the first FIVE days of each calendar month after a course begins.
  4. CELT ATHENS reserves the right to increase/decrease course fees or cancel a course at any time*.
  5. You must write your name on all money transfer documents.
  6. CELT is not responsible for your bank or credit card charges.

* An increase or discount of fees AFTER a candidate has been accepted does not affect this candidate but may affect candidates enrolling later. Cancellation is a provision in case a course becomes financially unviable. (see also the ‘early departure policy’ section on this).

CANCELLATION POLICY

A deposit of 250 Euros is non-refundable. If you withdraw from the course up to two weeks before the course start date, you will have no other financial obligations.

No refunds are possible after a course has started.

In the case of students having to withdraw due to serious medical reasons, it is upon the centre’s discretion to offer them a place on a later course – each case is to be examined separately and upon its own merits.

Full course fees will be refunded only if CELT ATHENS cancels a course.

EXAM ENTRANCE

Candidates for all exams others, must bring along their ID or a valid passport for exam entry.  Course fees do not include examination fees, and if you intend to take exams you will need extra money to pay for them.

COURSE ARRANGEMENTS

CELT reserves the right to change course arrangements if necessary. All courses run subject to demand.

GREEK OFFICIAL HOLIDAYS

Course hours will not be reduced due to these holidays.

RULES

CELT has a set of rules which apply to behaviour in the Centres, and in accommodation arranged by the Centre. According to these rules, we reserve the right to ask students to leave immediately with no refund of fees. These rules state, for example, that students must attend classes, must not drink alcohol and must not use, possess or supply drugs. Mobile phones must be switched off during lessons unless required for classroom use.

  1. Candidates are financially responsible for all material borrowed from CELT ATHENS (e.g. books, videos, cassette recorders, etc) and are responsible for their printing costs.
  2. Candidates are responsible for providing their own stationery and teaching materials (e.g. folders, blutak, scissors, etc.).
  3. Smoking is not allowed within school premises
  4. A professional dress code is expected, especially if candidates will be teaching our offline or online classes.
  5. Online candidates must ensure they are working in a quiet area with no noise, distractions or other pe6ople present or interacting with the candidate.
  6. Online candidates are responsible for using suitable hardware and software for the good conduct of the course and to ensure other candidates do not waste their time or are distracted by faulty equipment, a weak connection, lack of headset, ambient noise or lack of knowledge of the online environment which would take up session time to give them extra support during session work.

OVERSEAS STUDENTS & VISA ISSUING

Nationals of Australia, Canada, all EU countries, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, the UK and US can stay and study in Greece for up to three months without a visa (90 days). All other nationals will require a visa. For more information please click here.

EXAMINATION ENTRIES

CELT Athens reserves the right to bar a candidate from their final assessment for a course they have attended if one or more of the following conditions are not met:

  1. The candidate's internal assessment is incomplete.
  2. The candidate's internal assessment is below pass level.
  3. The candidate has not fully paid up course fees.
  4. (Module 2 only) The candidate has not attended the required percentage of the course (95%)

REFERRAL & REASSESSMENT COSTS
In case of REFERRAL results:

In Module 2, one assignment must be resubmitted; in Module 3, a rewrite of the original assignment. In cases like this, the following charges will be made for the different assessment components:

  1. Module 2                   €150
  2. Module 3                   €300

In addition to these costs, candidates are expected to pay for their Cambridge assessment fees for each Module.

If candidates wish to request for a detailed examination report, the fees to Cambridge ESOL are their sole responsibility (reports cost between 50 and 70 euros; they are not available for Module 1 but only for Modules 2 and 3)

If the dates of your Module 2 assessment are different from the dates at CELT Athens or the assessment is at a different location, the candidate is responsible for the flight and accommodation costs of the external assessor.

In the event of a FAIL result, for Modules 1 & 3, the assessment can be taken as many times and whenever the candidate wishes; for Module 2, candidates must attend a Module 2 course again and full fees must be paid to the centre.

MARKING & TUTORIAL SUPPORT BEYOND COURSE DATES

If for any reason, candidates are not able to complete and submit any of their assignments for marking within the course dates, the following charges apply:

Module 1   €50

Module 2   €150 per LSA or PDA

Module 3   €300

Important!

The centre undertakes to dispatch DELTA certificates & the overarching Diploma via registered post so make sure your address is clear and accurate. Courier costs must be covered by the candidates themselves to avoid loss of certificates which is common in some countries, e.g. Saudi Arabia, where addresses do not conform to EU specifications.

The language level of the candidates is specified as C2 minimum or IELTS 8.00. All candidates are graded on their language skills during teaching assessments and via their written assignments. It is possible to FAIL the course because of poor language language performance in exams, written assignments or teaching assessments.

Candidates with lower levels of English who still wish to attend the course for reasons of their own professional (and linguistic) development must sign a letter stating they are aware of the conditions of their acceptance.
