Marisa Constantinides

Marisa is a teacher, teacher educator,  and ELT author; she is the Director of Studies of CELT Athens and is responsible for the design and implementation of all courses offered at CELT. She has designed and run numerous seminars and workshops in Greece and other countries for schools and teacher associations. Her main ELT qualifications are a Diploma in TEFLA and an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Reading University.

Marisa is a frequent conference presenter and keynote speaker – some recent presentations can be viewed here – and has presented at IATEFL International, TESOL France, Brazil TESOL, TESOL Greece as well as on numerous online Conferences and Events. Since June 2015, she has also been a member of the Committee of the IATEFL Learning Technologies SIG (Special Interest Group).

Nominations & Awards: Marisa is one of the founding moderators of #ELTchat, a weekly discussion of ELT teachers on Twitter which was nominated & shortlisted in the 2012 ELTon Awards for Innovation in Creativity in the English Language ClassroomTeacher Resources. George Vassilakis

George Vassilakis’s first degree is in Philosophy, but having also earned a Diploma in English Literature and a Diploma in Translation, he  quickly changed direction, completed a certificate-level teacher training course and dedicated himself to English Language 8Teaching. After completing a course of advanced studies in ELT, as well as courses on teaching grammar and teaching business English, he  came to CELT as a trainee and attended the RSA Cambridge DOTE in 1989 (also a predecessor to the DELTA) which he completed  with a Distinction in Language and Methodology. He later also completed an MA in TEFL.

George worked as a teacher for some years and, after completing his RSA studies, was employed at CELT where her started tutoring on all the courses and very soon on the RSA Diploma course itself. Later he worked as the Academic Director and Cambridge exams manager for the Eurognosi language school chain for three years.

From 2008 to 2015, George was the Director of Language Certification at Peoplecert  which handles all City & Guilds Language Assessment but kept working with CELT as well during that time, tutoring mainly on our DELTA courses.

Since the beginning of April 2016, George Vassilakis has been working full time for CELT Athens as Head of Teacher Education.

Publications: George has written materials for Heinemann and Macmillan ELT, where he published Action English 1-3, a beginner to intermediate course for young learners, Lift-off, an upper intermediate course for young adults, and, more recently, with Rose Aravanis, Code Blue,  an intermediate course for teenagers and adults.

George’s blog is Detefling.

George is an approved CELTA and DELTA course tutor but contributes to other courses such as the Delta Module 1 Preparation and Module 3 support and the English for Teachers course.  

 

Sunny Sunny sA Angeles 

Sunny came to CELT to obtain her RSA DTEFLA Diploma in 1989 – she was one of our very first trainee teachers attending that course.Sunny A-Angeles was born and raised in Australia, of a German father and Japanese mother – with three languages at her fingertips, it was natural that she would develop an interest in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics!

After completing her Diploma with Distinction in the Practical, she went on to further her studies by obtaining two more Masters qualifications. Meanwhile, she started working as a tutor for CELT, first on the Language Awareness for Teachers course, later on the Certificate in TEFL and, finally on the RSA DOTE/DTEFLA, and more recently, the Cambridge DELTA.

Sunny is an approved DELTA Course tutor but she also works as a tutor on the Open University as an Associate Lecturer on the MA in Applied Linguistics, and as a tutor on the IH Distance DELTA. Sunny examines for Cambridge regularly and is an IELTS assessor as well.

Sunny is an Approved DELTA course tutor. Today she trains teachers on the DELTA course at CELT as well as on the English for Teachers course

 

Alexander Makarios

Alexander has been a teacher since 2004 during which time he has taught a variety of age gralexbestoups, from young learners to adults. He obtained his Cambridge CELTA Certificate in 2006 and his Cambridge Delta Diploma in 2009. He completed both this training course for his Delta at CELT Athens very successfully and was subsequently given a teaching post on our general and Business English courses.

Alexander is currently working towards his M.A. in Applied Linguistics at the University of London.

Since 2010alexander, Alexander has been working as a Course Tutor on all our Cambridge CELTA courses and is also an item writer for the City & Guilds Exams.

He is one of the blog authors of Cambridge CELTA Blog as well as the blog on this site. 

Alexander is an approved CELTA course tutor and he is currently training up to be approved as a DELTA tutor as well.

Alexandra Koukoumialou

Alexandra Kouk (as many have come to know her on Facebook and Twitter) has been a teacher of English for more than 15 years. She has a BA in Economics but worked as an alexandraEnglish teacher straight away and later obtained her Cambridge Diploma for Overseas Teachers at CELT in 1993.  More recently, Alexandra also recently completed her Avalon Certification Course for Teaching Languages in Second Life as well as her CELTA trainer training course at CELT Athens.

Alexandra ran her own private language school for 10 years in Athens but decided to join CELT Athens in 2008 teaching General, Business English and Modern Greek courses and, later,  training and supporting our Distance Diploma in Translation Courses from and into Greek.

She is one of the blog authors of Cambridge CELTA Blog as well as the blog on this site.

Alexandra is an Approved CELTA tutor and supports our Distance Translation Diploma trainees working on the English to Greek course option.

Bita Rezaei 
Bita Rezaei is the Director of Studies at Hermes Institute in Tehran, Iran. She is also an IH online tutor, a British Council master trainer and a Cambridge CELTA tutor. She holds an MA in TESOL and Applied Linguistics from Leicester University as well as CELTA and CELTYL certificates and a DELTA diploma. Her areas of interest in ELT include teacher training and development.

Our collaboration started in 2013 when we trained Bita to be a CELTA tutor and since then, asked her to work on our courses and to develop and take over our already very successful ELT Management course which she has enriched with her background in Business Studies and her experience of running a very successful chain of Foreign Language Centres in Iran.
Bita is an Approved CELTA tutor who works on our summer CELTA courses and our online ELT management course.
